MRUN Young Researchers Grant Scheme (MYRGS)

Introduction

The MYRGS is a research grant scheme that is opened to young researchers who are 40 years old and below in Malaysia. This grant scheme is offered by the Malaysian Research University Network (MRUN), in collaboration with the Young Scientists Network-Academy of Sciences Malaysia. MYRGS called for high-quality and innovative research proposals to address specific challenges that were identified. For this call, six grand challenges were identified: water security, food safety and security, renewable energy, health & wellbeing, agriculture and environment. The research proposals had to be transdisciplinary in nature; incorporating both science and social science (including law, arts and humanities, etc.) perspectives and methodologies. Proposals were encouraged to incorporate Industry 4.0-associated cutting-edge and frontier technologies; including but not limited to big data analytics, artificial intelligence, etc.
